I receive many questions about the "1 piece swimsuit." Should you wear one even when everybody else and their puppies are wear bikinis? Will wearing a 1 piece make you less of a contender?
In asking questions like these, you are doing what any other normal human tends to do...compare yourself with others. Digging deeper into that question is a sense of insecurity. So let's address that first.
When in a competition like this, it's super duper important to "keep your blinders on." You know, those things they put on horses' sides of their eyes to keep them focused on what's ahead of them?" Yes. Put on your blinders. Don't look left or right to the girl with the bikini looking cute. Just look straight ahead to the finish line.
And you can definitely look cute in a 1 piece, girl! And you can even make looking cute in a bikini your goal down the line. Why? Because you are in competition with yourself. You are the one that can make the changes to a better you, any time, any place. Pageant or no pageant.
But here I am assuming that one wants to wear a 1 piece because one may not have the right body for a bikini. Listen, 1 piece swimsuits are beautiful. So if it's just your style over a bikini, wear it.
Having that said, this is my opinion about the whole 1 piece swimsuit thing: With the right suit, right attitude, and the right walk, amazing hair and makeup...you CAN ABSOLUTELY wear a 1 piece.
If you look good in one, or if it makes you look better than you would in a bikini, wear it. And WERK it.
Fact of the matter is, you have to wear something that suits you (no pun intended)! If you have a shape that is not conducive to a bikini body yet, get a trainer who knows about fat loss, muscle toning and nutrition, and in the meantime, wear a 1 piece. No biggie.
I hope this helps you feel more comfortable about your decision to wear a 1 piece! Just do you, Boo! And at the end of the day, let's keep this topic in perspective. It is less than 2 minutes that you are on the stage in a swimsuit. Make the right choice for you, don't sweat over it too much, and WERK. Own it.
